Last weekend, GBC hosted high school students at our Elko campus for SkillsUSA's regional welding competition. Students from Carlin, Wells, and West Wendover High Schools competed in a four-part welding competition. The event began with a written exam, followed by hands-on cutting and welding challenges in the Welding Lab. The event concluded with an award ceremony for the top six students, who won prizes and will advance to the state competition in Reno. A big thank you goes out to our volunteer judges, GBC instructors Norm Whittaker and Matt Nichols, along with representatives from Nevada Gold Mines.
